COVID -19

The novel corona virus (COVID-19) has made its presence known around the world and as we adapt to the new normal, it is important that safety measures are in place in order to help limit the transmission of the virus.

There is still much to be learned about COVID-19, but what is currently known is that it can spread from person to person via respiratory droplets from and infected person. The method of transmission can include:

Respiratory droplets generated when you cough or sneeze

Close, prolonged personal contact such as touching or shaking hands

Touching something with the virus on it, then touching your mouth, nose or eyes before before washing your hands
People infected with COVID-19 may present with little to no symptoms. It can take up to 14 days before symptoms may present itself. Some symptoms include:
- Cough
- Fever
- Difficulty breathing
- Pneumonia in both lungs
There is currently no vaccine to protect against COVID-19. Therefore it is important to self-monitor and follow recommended public health guidelines should you suspect to have any signs or symptoms of the virus.
What to expect for your appointment:
As we navigate through this pandemic, our clinic and staff will be keeping up to date with the COVID-19 Pandemic Clinical Practice Directive as outlined by the College of Chiropodist of Ontario. This will help to ensure the health and safety of staff and patients when entering and exiting the clinic. No walk-in will be allowed, patients must call to book an appointment. All patients will be screened upon booking an appointment. Patients are asked to stay home and cancel any appointments if they are feeling sick or not feeling well in general.
